Christopher Boyd (left) one year old, looks at Samson through the window during winter 95. Jim Boyd (center and right), Christopher's dad, is pictured in his office at the YMCA of the Rockies. Samson was a regular at the Estes Park Center/YMCA for the last six years. He will be missed by Jim and by thousands of others who were lucky enough to see Samson winter around Estes and the YMCA of the Rockies.

Hopefully, other would be trophy poachers will be discouraged from poaching if this murderer is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. You can write our government representatives asking them to introduce legislation that mandates tough sentences for poachers who have traditionally been given suspended sentences. Check out what people are saying about poaching.

Also please help us expand our Web Tribute to Samson. If you were lucky enough to photograph Samson, please let us know so we can include your photo on these pages. If you are from the media and would like to include your articles on this page, please let us know.

Our community has been shocked into realization that one person's "big mistake" is the loss to untold thousands. During the same week in Estes, four other poaching incidents killing four elk and two mule deer were reported. Probably if Samson wasn't such a celebrity we would never have heard of any of the slayings. Please stop the poachers.
