This photo was taken from the Gore Range Overlook parking lot on Trail Ridge Road, elevation ~12,000ft. It was taken two days after Trail Ridge Road opened for the season in 1995. As you can see, the spring of 1995 brought heavy snows to the mountains. In fact, Trail Ridge Road opened a few days later than usual in 1995. This day was very foggy atop Trail Ridge, except for a few fleeting minutes when the storm parted and left this image.
